At My Angels Daycare we provide year round full time care for infants and children starting at three months of age up to five years old. Our day typically begins with a welcoming and engaging routine, where children greet each other and participate in simple tasks like hanging up their coats or putting away their belongings. This helps promote a sense of independence and responsibility.
After that, a variety of play-based activities are provided to stimulate the children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. These activities may include:
- Creative Play: children engage in arts and crafts projects, such as painting, drawing, sculpting, and collage-making. They are encouraged to express their creativity, explore different materials, and develop their fine motor skills.
- Imaginative Play: we set up different play areas, such as a pretend kitchen, a dress-up corner, or a construction zone, where children can use their imaginations and engage in role-playing activities. This type of play enhances their social skills, language development, and problem-solving abilities.
- Storytelling and Reading: we read stories aloud to the children, encouraging their love for books and literature. Children may also have access to a cozy reading corner with a variety of age-appropriate books. This activity promotes language development, vocabulary expansion and a love for reading.
- Outdoor Play: weather permitting, children are given opportunities to play outside in a safe and supervised environment. They can explore nature, run, climb, play with balls or ride tricycles. We also have a gardening to plant and care for natural herbs. Outdoor play fosters gross motor skills, physical fitness, and an appreciation for the natural world.
- Learning Centers: we set up various learning centers, such as a math corner, a sensory table, puzzles or a science exploration area. Children can engage in hands-on activities that promote early math concepts, sensory exploration, and scientific inquiry.
- Music and Movement: children are encouraged to participate in singing, dancing, and musical activities. They may have access to musical instruments, rhythm games, and dance props. Music and movement activities enhance coordination, rhythm, and self-expression.
- Quiet Time: to ensure a well-rounded day, a designated quiet time is incorporated into the schedule. Children can rest, nap, or spend a quiet time while listening to soft music. This promotes relaxation, self-regulation, and rejuvenation.
Throughout the day, myself and my helpers will always interact with the children, providing guidance, support, and encouragement. The activities in My Angels Daycare are not only fun and engaging but also foster important developmental skills, promote socialization, and create a sense of belonging and community among the children.
